Job description

About Carbon Equity

Carbon Equity is a pioneering climate tech venture capital and private equity fund investment platform. Our mission is to unlock private capital at the scale of billions to address the world’s greatest challenges, starting with climate change. We reshape the investment landscape by enabling individuals to invest in ventures that drive positive change while generating attractive financial returns. Our focus includes technologies like alternative proteins, carbon-neutral cement or steel, green hydrogen production, and carbon capture, all contributing to a net-zero future.

Position: Entrepreneur in Residence Intern

Location: Berlin

Reporting to: Country Manager Germany

Role Overview

We are looking for a commercially-driven, entrepreneurial intern to support the rollout of Carbon Equity’s go-to-market strategy in Germany. As Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR), you will work closely with the Country Manager to execute high-impact sales, marketing, and operational initiatives that help us reach and convert new investors. This role is ideal for someone who loves sales, thrives in ambiguity, and is eager to take on responsibility in a mission-driven startup environment.

Note: This is not an investment-focused role. The emphasis is on commercial execution, outreach, and go-to-market preparation. Applicants looking for an investment internship should not apply.

What You’ll Do

In this high-energy, hands-on role, your core responsibilities will include:

1. Sales & Commercial Execution

  • Assist in sourcing, qualifying, and managing leads through CRM tools and structured outreach campaigns

  • Conduct follow-ups and maintain momentum with investor prospects

  • Own specific parts of the sales funnel with growing autonomy

2. CRM & Operational Support

  • Maintain accurate data in our CRM (HubSpot), ensuring clean records and actionable insights

  • Prepare commercial documents like pitch decks, one-pagers, and outreach templates

3. Marketing & Communication

  • Draft and refine marketing collateral and communication for investor audiences

  • Support local events (e.g., dinners, roundtables, webinars) including logistics and guest communications

  • Help align fund marketing materials with localized messaging

4. Research & Strategic Support

  • Conduct targeted market and investor research to support German expansion

  • Provide strategic input on GTM tactics based on lead behavior and market feedback

  • Support ad-hoc operational and strategic projects as needed
