The Role & Deliverables

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Manager who excels in managing complex financial and operational processes in a fast-growing, mission-driven company. As the Finance Manager, you will be a key member of our Finance & Operations team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management for both the company and our investment funds. Carbon Equity currently has 9 funds with more than 260 million euros under management and a team of 35 full-time employees. You will ensure that our financial operations run smoothly, enabling us to continue scaling our impact on transitioning to a net zero economy.

What you are going to do:

Financial Management of our Investment Products:

• Oversee and manage all financial aspects of our investment funds, including planning and - executing capital calls, managing LP communications, investor reporting, and tracking the financial performance of the portfolio
• Manage financial processes incl. invoicing, capital call payments, capital call forecasting and accurate investor reporting
• Coordinate with our external fund administrator, investment team, and the product team on fund operational processes, like launches, closings, capital calls and quarterly reporting
• Manage the treasury function incl. interest optimization strategies, liquidity management and FX hedging strategies for the investment funds together with banking and financial partners

Financial Management of the Company:

• Support the CFO in overseeing comprehensive financial management, including business financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, and cash flow planning.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting to shareholders, the supervisory board, and regulators. Collaborate with our compliance team on the annual audit of the company and in preparing financial reports that ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
• Work closely with the Office Manager on financial administration and accounting tasks, such as invoicing, expenses, insurance, salary compensation, and tax compliance.
• Support Fundraising Efforts: Assist the CEO and CFOO in fundraising activities for Carbon Equity B.V., including preparing financial materials, engaging with potential investors, and supporting the overall fundraising process
• Data Analytics & Strategic Insight: Utilize data analytics to monitor financial performance and provide strategic insights that support informed decision-making and drive organizational growth

Your Qualifications:

• 6+ years of relevant experience in finance, controlling, operations, or a similar role, preferably within the venture capital, private equity, or investment management sectors or at a fintech company.
• Strong financial acumen and experience in financial reporting, portfolio management, and cash planning.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to managing multiple responsibilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Google Workspace, and other relevant tools such as Exact Online and HubSpot.
• Alignment with Carbon Equity's mission to combat climate change by directing capital towards innovative climate technology companies.
• Fluency in English is required.

• Work at a well-funded fintech startup that is truly driven to put a dent in climate change. Our office is in the bustling center of Amsterdam, less than a 10-minute walk from the central station. Public transport costs are reimbursed if needed.
• We support remote work at Carbon Equity, however, we would like you to spend a minimum of 3 days in the office.
• Full-time position.
• Salary between € 5,500 and € 7,000 (ex. vacation allowance) depending on your knowledge and experience.
