Job description
About Carbon Equity
Carbon Equity is a digital wealth platform that seeks to mobilise private capital at a scale of billions to help solve the world’s biggest challenges, starting with climate change. We do so by democratising access to impact driven alternative investments such as venture capital and private equity. Founded in Amsterdam, we combine a strong culture of impact, high performance, and innovation with a deep commitment to building a values-driven organization. As we scale, we are looking for ambitious, mission-aligned talent to help us accelerate the global transition to a net-zero economy.
Why this role matters
Carbon Equity is scaling rapidly, and operational excellence is the backbone of our growth. Sharper processes mean faster decision-making. Smarter use of AI and automation means more impact with fewer resources. By embedding a culture of experimentation, we can move faster, learn quicker, and scale sustainably.
As Ops Innovation Lead, you will be the challenger and pace setter across the organization — driving urgency, problem-solving proactively, and ensuring that ideas turn into execution. You will not only streamline today’s systems, but also future-proof them by embedding technology, data, and AI/automation into the way we work.
Purpose of the role
The Ops Innovation Lead supports the COO and the leadership team by embedding scalable systems, removing bottlenecks, and instilling a culture of experimentation. In this role, you will ensure that progress is consistently tracked, stakeholders are held accountable, and continuous improvement becomes part of our company’s DNA. You will also help strengthen role clarity, OKR rhythm, and reporting structures that enable the company to scale effectively.
Key responsibilities
Systems & process diagnostics
You will assess our core operating systems — including revenue operations, investor operations, people & performance, and finance — to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies. You will create a “System health heatmap” to track performance and highlight areas of improvement. You will help reduce operational dependency and create scalable, self-running systems.
Documentation & enablement
You will make sure that toolkits and templates are in place that empower teams to improve their own systems and take ownership. You will also ensure that processes are simple, clear, repeatable and technology-enabled. You ensure teams are fully clear on their accountabilities and that every team knows what success looks like.
Project management & experimentation
You will lead cross-functional improvement projects with urgency and authority. You will track initiatives, report progress consistently to the leadership team, and ensure that OKRs, reviews, and cadences run smoothly. You will introduce structured A/B testing and experimentation practices that help teams learn faster and scale what works.
AI & automation
You will identify opportunities for automation across operational systems and implement solutions that improve efficiency and scalability. You will explore practical applications of AI — such as process automation, reporting, and CRM optimization — and build the capability within teams to adopt these tools effectively.
Continuous improvement & change Management
You will introduce best practices drawn from high-performing scale-ups and consulting environments. You will foster a culture of “solve, test, learn” across all teams. You will also constructively challenge assumptions, hold stakeholders accountable for execution, and ensure that operational rhythms (planning cycles, reviews, reporting) enable visibility and drive decisions.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of experience in operational excellence, strategic innovation, Chief of Staff, post-merger integration, or consulting roles. Experience in scale-ups, fintech/SaaS, or regulated environments is a strong advantage.
We are looking for a challenger with authority who sets the pace and drives execution. You are proactive and self-steering, thrive in ambiguous environments, and know how to bring structure where it is needed. You are confident in holding others accountable, not afraid to challenge leaders constructively, and able to balance urgency with empowering teams to take ownership of their systems.
You bring a proven track record of making systems work at scale — spotting bottlenecks, simplifying processes, and embedding practical tools that teams actually use. You are comfortable leading cross-functional projects, translating analysis into action, and driving measurable improvements in speed, efficiency, and outcomes.
Experience with automation and AI tools is essential, enabling you to reduce manual work and unlock scalability. Strong project and change management skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative, high-ownership mindset round out your profile. Above all, you are aligned with Carbon Equity’s mission and motivated by building systems that scale both impact and performance.
Skills & tools:
Process mapping and improvement (Lean/Six Sigma mindset, applied pragmatically).
Strong cross-functional project management and change management.
Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder alignment.
Data-driven approach; able to build and maintain dashboards.
Hands-on experience with automation and AI tools.
Familiarity with Notion, CRM systems, project management software, and KPI dashboards.
What success looks like (12 Months)
Within the first year, success in this role means that all core systems have a clearly defined owner, are documented, and have an established health score. You will have reduced bottlenecks in at least two to three critical processes and provided the leadership team with improved visibility and confidence in execution progress. Teams across the company will have adopted experimentation practices — such as A/B testing and automation pilots — as part of their standard way of working. Finally, measurable improvements will be seen in both the speed of execution and employee satisfaction regarding operational efficiency.
