Job description

About Carbon Equity

Carbon Equity is a pioneering climate tech venture capital and private equity fund investment platform. Our mission is to unlock private capital at the scale of billions to help solve the world’s greatest challenges, starting with climate change. We reshape the investment landscape by enabling individuals to invest in ventures that drive positive change while generating attractive financial returns. Think of technologies like alternative proteins, carbon-neutral cement or steel, green hydrogen production, and carbon capture. All contributing to a net-zero future.

Position: Product Designer

Location: Amsterdam

Reporting to: Head of Product

Role Overview

  • As a Product Designer you work with the Product and Engineering team to translate user needs to innovative ideas from discovery to delivery by looking at the entire experience rather than single screens or features. You work closely with developers on a day-to-day basis.
  • We are building the best climate investing platform for investors who truly care about what they invest in. Their user experience should match with the impact they are creating. You care about creating a user experience that makes people proud to invest in our groundbreaking climate investments.
  • Apply your design expertise throughout all stages of the product development lifecycle, from initial discovery to final delivery.
  • You enjoy working in a team and being part of a larger vision and mission. You contribute to strategic decision-making by collaborating with the product team and other stakeholders, shaping the direction of our products.
  • Conduct both qualitative and quantitative user research to get a deep understanding of our users' desires and needs. Analyze current user behavior, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements.

  • You can set scope and manage small projects with minimal oversight or approval. You may need help determining how and when to cut scope.
  • You’re able to write modern HTML/CSS. It is okay to lack direct experience with Python, but you are comfortable working in the codebase, applying your designs and interactions to implemented code with oversight and feedback with developers.
  • You are developing a wide range of focus and find opportunities to make improvements to your work as you go. You look for the opportunity to make small improvements to the product (quick wins).
  • Fluent command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Located in the Netherlands or willing to relocate and has a permit to work in the Netherlands. Carbon Equity cannot sponsor your relocation.

Note: We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
